Dr. Catania is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Catania is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and is accredited nuclear cardiologist by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
Dr. Raymond Catania was a registered pharmacist in New York prior to becoming a cardiologist. He is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine (Iowa), and completed his residency and post-doctoral training at the Beth Israel Medical Center (New York).
He is a licensed physician in the state of New York and New Jersey and has been providing cardiovascular care to patients in New York (prior to 2002) and New Jersey (current).
In July 2011, Dr. Catania and Dr. Barone opened Barone & Catania Cardiovascular Group, P.C. in Watchung, New Jersey to serve the needs of cardiac patients in Morris and Somerset counties.
Dr. Catania has expertise in all areas of electrophysiology, echocardiography, interventional and nuclear cardiology. He is an attending physician at Morristown Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) – Somerset, formerly known as the Somerset Medical Center.
Dr. Catania strongly believes in giving patients the time to discuss their medical needs and providing holistic treatment options.
Outside of practice, Dr. Catania proudly serves The Janet Fund as a Board Member/medical advisor. He is also an honorary surgeon for the New York City Police Department.
